The aim of this tool is to stimulate ethical reflection and to empower
actors in public health to undertake themselves the analysis of certain
situations that present ethical issues.
Analyzing the ethical dimensions of public health actions helps ensure the legitimacy of interventions that can help improve the health of the population. The clarification of the values at stake and their relative importance in a given situation makes it possible to support the choices concerning the actions to be favored. Ultimately, this also helps to strengthen the population’s confidence in public health institutions and increase their credibility. This confidence can lead to a more positive reception which will contribute to the effectiveness of public health interventions with the population.
