practical information, polling station hours, health protocol… everything you need to know to vote in Centre-Val de Loire

This Sunday, June 12, you are called to vote for the first round of the legislative elections. Before you go to the polls, let’s take stock together of the rules and the information you need to know.

What are the opening hours of my polling station? Do I take my identity papers or is the voter’s card enough? Is wearing a mask still compulsory in polling stations? Here is everything you need to know to vote in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

Most polling stations are open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.. But in the Centre-Val de Loire region, several polling stations will close at 19 hours : this will be the case in the big cities that are Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), Orleans (Loiret), Tours (Indre-et-Loire).

However, some smaller municipalities have decided to close their polling stations at 7 p.m.: Ingré and Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle (Loiret), La Riche, Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, Montlouis-sur-Loire, Saint-Avertin (Indre-et-Loire).

It is possible to make a power of attorney, until the day before the poll. It is another person, whom you have designated, who will go in your place. She can live in another municipality. The only constraint: she must come to your polling station to vote for you. The proxy request can be made online, on the website www.maprocuration.gouv.fr. It is also possible to go to court, to a police station or to a gendarmerie. The supporting documents necessary to make the request: your identity document, your voter number and the marital status of the chosen person and as well as his voter number.

The voter card will not suffice. It is strongly recommended to have it with you, but it is not mandatory. The presentation of an identity document (identity card or passport valid or expired for less than 5 years, driving license, vital card and even hunting license!) is essential. The complete list of accepted documents is available ici.

It is authorized to come with its own ballot paper received with the professions of faith of the candidates in your mailbox. But only ballots printed by the administration will be accepted. On the other hand, there is no need to come with your own envelope: it will not be accepted.

You must vote in the same polling station as for the presidential election. You did not vote for the presidential! Do not panic ! The government has set up a service called Ask about your electoral situation to find his polling station. By going to this site, all you have to do is fill in your voting municipality and your civility. You will know which polling station is assigned to you. You can also scan the QR code on your new electoral card. He will send you back to the site elections.interieur.gouv.fr.

Wearing a mask is strongly recommended but not mandatory. Hydroalcoholic gel will be made available in the polling stations. Regular ventilation of the premises will be respected. The equipment will be cleaned regularly. Voters are also asked to present themselves with their own black or blue ink pen.

You can still vote. Indeed, the law requires your employer to take “all necessary measures to allow employees to personally exercise their right to vote”. This is a provision mentioned in two articles of the Labor Code, articles L3132-25 and L3132-26-1, introduced by the law of August 6, 2015 for “the growth, activity and equality of economic opportunity”.

From 8 p.m., by consulting our France 3 Center-Val de Loire website and on our antenna from 8:15 p.m. while watching our election evening.
