Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expresses Solidarity wiht Qatar in doha Visit
Doha,Qatar – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in doha on Friday at 3:20 p.m. local time for a meeting with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, in the wake of recent Israeli attacks. The visit underscores Indonesia’s strong support for Qatar following the Tuesday, September 9th airstrike on Doha.
upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, president Prabowo was greeted by Qatar’s Defense Minister Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Bin Hassan Bin Ali Al-Thani, Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Ridwan Hassan, adn Indonesian Defense Attaché Colonel Tengku Sony Sonatha. A formal guard of honor was presented before the President departed for Lusail Palace.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, speaking from Doha, confirmed the primary focus of the trip was a direct meeting with the Emir. “Today, President Prabowo flew to Doha to meet directly with the emir,” Wijaya stated.”His visit is a clear demonstration of Indonesia’s support for the government and people of Qatar.”
President Prabowo had previously conveyed his concerns regarding the incident to Sheikh Tamim in a phone call on wednesday, September 10th, inquiring about Qatar’s well-being and reiterating Indonesia’s dedication to Qatar’s sovereignty and regional peace.
Beyond expressing solidarity, the discussions between President Prabowo and the Emir are also expected to center on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Qatar, with the aim of collaboratively addressing global challenges and deepening their longstanding relationship.
