PPKM Java-Bali Extended Until December 13

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government extends the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in Java and Bali. PPKM has been extended for the next 2 weeks.

“Yes (extended by 2 weeks),” said the Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safrizal, Monday (29/11/2021).

PPKM in Java and Bali will last until Monday, December 13. Evaluation of the implementation of PPKM is carried out every week.

In PPKM that applies outside Java and Bali, evaluation of the implementation of PPKM is also carried out every week.

PPKM in Java-Bali was previously extended from November 16 to November 29, 2021. Referring to Inmendagri 60/2021, PPKM level 1 areas in Java-Bali totaled 26 regions. It is known that PPKM in Java and Bali was previously implemented from level 1 to 3.

The PPKM evaluation this time was held in the midst of the outbreak of the Omicron variant of Corona in a number of African countries. The Indonesian government itself has taken a number of preventive measures so that the Omicron variant does not enter Indonesia.

“The government will also increase the quarantine time for foreigners and Indonesian citizens from abroad outside the countries listed in point A to 7 days from the previous 3 days,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at a press conference on Sunday (28 /11/2021).

The list of countries point A in question is South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique, Malawi, Angola, Zambia and Hong Kong. This means that foreigners and Indonesian citizens from abroad outside Africa must undergo a 7-day quarantine.
