Google Pixel smartphones have always been known for their exceptional camera performance, and it seems the upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are not going to disappoint on that front. Rumors are rife that the new models will come equipped with advanced camera features such as Video Unblur, which ensures jitter-free and smoother video footage. Additionally, the Pixel 8 series is reportedly set to offer 14 video effects, giving users a plethora of creative options to enhance their videos. Keep reading to know more about the exciting camera features Google’s upcoming flagship models are expected to bring.

There is much speculation surrounding the release of the Google Pixel 8 series in 2023 and what new specifications and features it might offer. According to the latest leak, the Pixel 8 series may include a Video Unblur feature. It has been reported that with the launch of the Pixel 7 series in 2022, Google introduced the Photo Unblur feature to enhance blurred photographs. With Photo Unblur, Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users can even restore old blurry images.

Google had previously stated: “Bring your blurry photos back to life with Photo Unblur, a Google Photos feature only on Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Photo Unblur uses machine learning to improve your blurry pictures — even old ones. With just a few taps, remove blur and visual noise so you can relive the moment as clearly as you remember it. And you can also touch up those photos and easily remove distractions with Magic Eraser.”

If reports are true, it is expected that the Pixel 8 series will include a Video Unblur feature, allowing you to make your videos look sharper and clearer. Additionally, the Pixel 8 series may feature a range of video effects. Sharing a screenshot, 9To5Google reported: “Our team has managed to forcibly enable the UI for Google’s Video Unblur, but for now, the tool has no noticeable effect on videos. Most likely, the effect has not been fully developed yet. Once it works, we expect Video Unblur will give previously captured videos a sharper appearance with the help of machine learning.”

9To5Google also revealed that Google is preparing a set of video effects that users can apply, which will be located in a new “Overlays” tab. Currently, there are 14 video effects planned, including After School, B&W, Chromatic, Forward, Glassy, Golden, Moire, Multiply, Polaroid, Rainbow Rays, Reflect, RGB Pulse, Super 8, and VHS. It should be noted that Video Unblur and the video effects may be exclusive to the Pixel series and debut later this year on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. However, nothing in the code explicitly ties them to the Pixel series, and it is still early in development.

In conclusion, the rumored introduction of a Video Unblur feature and 14 video effects on the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro would certainly solidify the brand’s place in the competitive smartphone market. Video enthusiasts and content creators would appreciate the ability to add various effects to their videos while also correcting any unintended blurs. It remains to be seen whether this feature will be confirmed, but we can only hope for such innovation from Google. Until then, we eagerly await more exciting news and updates on the highly anticipated Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
