Positive Trend for Banking Sector Stocks, Negative Performance for Telecom Italia TIM: Analysis and Market Update

Positive trend for banking sector stocks. Negative performance, however, for Telecom Italia TIM. The yield on the 10-year BTP exceeded 4.65%

The major Italian Stock Exchange indices and the main European financial markets are confirmed in negative territory in the first session of the week. According to Gilles Guibout – Head of European Equities at AXA Investment Managers – more volatility can be expected in the coming weeks, as the likelihood that the direction of stock markets is strongly correlated with macroeconomic data remains high. “The key indicators to follow are inflation rates and the pace of global economic slowdown,” the expert warned.

At 1.05 pm FTSEMib it was down 0.57% to 28,413 points, after having fluctuated between a minimum of 28,273 points and a maximum of 28,676 points. At the same time the FTSE Italia All Share lost 0.59%. Minus sign also for the FTSE Italia Mid Cap (-0.82%) and for the FTSE Italia Star (-1,73%).

Highlighted Monte dei Paschi di Siena which recorded an increase of 1.58% to 2.694 euros.

Good performances also for the BancoBPM (+2.29%) and for BPER Bank (+1,59%).

In red Telecom Italia TIM (-1,51% a 0,3199 euro). The telephone company announced that, as part of the ongoing negotiation with KKR, it has received a request from the fund to extend the exclusivity period to 15 October 2023 to conclude the preparatory activities and present the binding offer on Netco.

At FTSEMib the slip of. stands out Amplifier (-8,41% a 26,69 euro).

Among the companies with smaller capitalization, sales on Agatos (suspended due to excessive reduction). Borsa Italiana has announced that from Monday 25 September 2023 and until further communication on the company’s shares, the placing of orders without price limits (best orders) will not be permitted.
