Portuguese live terror: Legia bus invaded by fans

The Legia Warsaw squad lived moments of terror, this Sunday, when they saw the bus invaded by fans.

Everything happened on the way back after the defeat at Wisla Plock’s stronghold, which threw Yuri Ribeiro, Josué, André Martins and Rafael Lopes’ team into last place in the Polish League.

Unhappy with the situation, radical supporters waited for the team on their return and blocked the bus. They entered the vehicle and attacked some players. According to the Polish press, Azeri Mahir Emreli and Brazilian Luquinhas, who played for Portuguese football, were the hardest hit.

Also according to the Polish press, Emreli has even contacted lawyers to analyze the possibility of proceeding with a unilateral termination of the contract.

The Legia issued a statement on Monday, confirming the incident and condemning it. But what has also raised controversy is that there was no member of the governing structure on the bus. A director explained that, due to the size of the technical team, the bus was full.

Also on Monday, the Warsaw club announced the change of coach: Marek Golebiewski gave in to Aleksandar Vukovic, who had already coached Legia between April 2019 and September 2020.
