SEVILLA – Portugal National Team (National Team) led Cristiano Ronaldo set a record despite being eliminated by Belgium after losing in the round of 16 Euro 2020. Portugal lost 1-0 while playing at the Olympic Stadium in Sevilla, Spain, Monday (28/6/2021).
Cristiano Ronaldo almost brought Portugal ahead midway through the first half. Unfortunately, the execution of his free kick flew over the crossbar.
Belgium actually made a surprise through Thorgan Hazard’s goal in the 42nd minute. Rui Patricio failed to anticipate a hard shot from outside the penalty box. Belgium lead 1-0 over Portugal until halftime.

Left behind by a goal Portugal was more aggressive in building attacks in the second half. Jota gave a threat after receiving feedback from Ronaldo. Unfortunately, the Liverpool player’s final settlement did not meet the target.

Two minutes later Joao Felix, who came on for Joao Moutinho, was able to meet Sanches’ cross, unfortunately his header was still saved by Courtois.
Portugal continued to attack and in the 82nd minute Bruno Fernandes’ corner was met by Ruben Dias with a sharp header, but Courtois reacted swiftly to keep the ball in the Belgian goal mouth.
