Portugal records 46,512 contagion cases, 291 more than yesterday. Deaths are 1,660 – Jornal Económico

In Portugal, there are already a total of 46,512 confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19), 291 more than the data presented Saturday, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health revealed this Sunday, July 12.

The number of fatalities from the new coronavirus in the country has increased to 1,660, which means six more deaths in the last 24 hours.

The bulletin records a total of 40,5110 suspected cases and 1,638 people who are still awaiting the results of Covid-19 laboratory tests.

The data also reveals the existence of 462 inpatients, 64 of whom are in Units and Intensive Care. There is also an increase in the number of recovered cases to 30,907.

Currently, 34,512 people are under surveillance by health authorities. The region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley has the highest number of confirmed cases of infection by the new coronavirus to date: 22,611, followed by the northern region with 18,109.

The most common symptoms are cough (36%), fever (28%), muscle pain (21%), headache (20%), generalized weakness (14%) and breathing difficulties (10%).
