Porsche Crash Causes Hours-Long closure of Major Munich Road, Multiple Injuries
Munich, Germany – A serious traffic accident involving a Porsche and a renault on Schleißheimer Straße near the BMW factory premises left several people injured and the major thoroughfare closed for hours this morning. The Porsche overturned multiple times, coming to rest on its roof approximately 140 meters from the initial impact point, extending the accident site to the intersection with detmoldstrasse.
The collision underscores the ongoing challenges of traffic safety on heavily-used commuter routes in Munich. Schleißheimer Straße serves as a vital artery for both inbound and outbound traffic, and its prolonged closure significantly impacted travel throughout the city. One occupant required resuscitation at the scene,and a total of five individuals sustained injuries of varying severity. Rescue efforts involved two emergency doctors, multiple ambulance crews, the professional fire brigade, the Harthof volunteer fire brigade, and the BMW works fire brigade.
Traffic was brought to a standstill, with the outbound Schleißheimer Straße remaining fully closed for several hours. Inbound lanes reopened after approximately one hour. The cause of the accident is currently under inquiry by Munich Police. (Source: Munich Police)
