The debut of the Porsche Panamera Model Year 2021. The new model of the German sports car, which arrives four years after the launch of the previous generation, will be unveiled on August 26th and will reserve big surprises for fans of German sports. Especially under the hood.
In fact, if on an aesthetic level there will not be huge differences between the Panamera launched in 2016 and the Model Year 2021, the German engineers have worked to further accentuate the sporty character of their sedan. As said by Thomas Friemuth, Panamera vice president product line, the new Panamera “as well as being more powerful, it’s more stable and has more precise steering ”. According to the rumors of recent weeks – for the official technical specifications we will have to wait for the presentation at the end of the month – the new Turbo S (which will take the place of the Panamera Turbo with 550 horsepower) should have a 620 horsepower engine, but it shouldn’t be the most powerful model.
As proof of the good work done by the German manufacturer’s technicians and engineers, the Panamera Model Year 2021 has the absolute record in the North Ring of the Nurburgring for the cars of the E segment (the “Executive Cars”). With the experienced German driver Lars Kern at the wheel, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S stopped the hands of the stopwatch at a record time of 7 minutes 29 seconds and 81 tenths, a handful of tenths faster than the previous record set by the Mercedes AMG GT63 S in 2018.

Compared to the previous generation Porsche Panamera, however, the improvement is clear: Green Hell lap time has been cut by more than 13 seconds. All in road configuration, with the only addition of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, which can also be ordered on the production model.
In addition to the Panamera Turbo which set the record on the German circuit, one is also expected next year renewed hybrid version, with a new power unit capable of developing even more power. According to rumors, in fact, the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid (this is the name of the new model that will replace the S E-Hybrid launched in 2016) will be equipped with a 552 horsepower 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine of power to which a 128 horsepower electric powertrain. The traction system will thus be able to deliver the beauty of 660 horses and, thanks to a more generous battery pack, with an autonomy of 20% higher than the previous model.
