Poroshenko appears in the fourth and final part of Medvedchuk’s tapes. These are conversations concerning the exchange of detainees. In particular, release from captivity “cyborg” Andrey (Rakhman) Grechanov, who returned to Ukraine on the night of December 1, 2015.
The exchange of the Ukrainian prisoner was supposed to take place on November 28, but on that day, according to the tapes, Medvedchuk canceled the exchange. Bihus.info journalists concluded that Grechanov’s exchange was slowed down to make a beautiful picture for the camera.
“Grechanov will only be exchanged on November 30. They will be exchanged in strict secrecy, no cameras, even from his family. He will be brought to Boryspil airport at midnight, where Poroshenko will return from Paris. And then the cameras will appear,” said journalist Denis Bigus.
The party’s press service called Bigus’s words fake, and Poroshenko said that “using the issue of hostages and prisoners of war in a political struggle is absolute bestiality,” but he is “ready for that too.”

He said that the proposal to involve Medvedchuk in the exchange of detainees was voiced at the summit of the leaders of the Normandy Four.

The ex-president confirmed that 1,500 prisoners had been freed before Medvedchuk appeared in the negotiation process. In total, according to Poroshenko, almost 3.3 thousand prisoners of war returned to Ukraine in the first two years of his presidency.
May 11 Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova signed to Medvedchuk and his colleague Taras Kozak suspicions in high treason and attempted plunder of national resources. The media reported that in the house of Medvedchuk in Kiev and the office of the HLE SBU conducted searches.
After that, the journalists of the Bihus.Info project published three fragments of the films, which allegedly featured Medvedchuk. IN the first part of the recordings of conversationspublished May 17, the leader of the “LPR” militants threatened to destroy the convoy of armored vehicles of Ukraine if its advance was not stopped. Medvedchuk responded by telling him that Poroshenko, who at that time was the president of Ukraine, called back and “said that he had given the command to return the convoy to Izvarino.” There is also a conversation between Medvedchuk and his assistant in Donetsk and Lugansk, Dmitry Doroshenko, in June 2014, in which they discussed the terrorists’ demands for organizing negotiations.
The second part of the tapes, released on May 24, explains the history of Medvedchuk’s receipt of the Ukrainian part of the oil product pipeline “Samara – Western Direction”.
The third part appeared on May 31. In it Medvedchuk is discussing with the Kremlin the supply of coal to Ukraine from the occupied territories.
