Porcelain halls become large living areas – Society

Youth club Ten Goudberge and CC Guldenberg are joining forces for Living 2020. They transform the Porseleinhallen into a huge living room for a month. Raymond van het Groenewoud, the Bony King of Nowhere and Meskerem Mees will perform.

These were and are difficult times for the cultural and events sector. Youth club Ten Goudberge also had to reinvent itself time and again. BAT in ‘t Park was canceled, the many creative ideas, performances and cozy evenings in the park could be put away. To make matters worse, the youth center had to close its doors, since 2 September they are open again.

These were and are difficult times for the cultural and events sector. Youth club Ten Goudberge also had to reinvent itself time and again. BAT in ‘t Park was canceled, the many creative ideas, performances and cozy evenings in the park could be put away. To make matters worse, the youth center had to close its doors, they have been open again since September 2. “With great enthusiasm!”, Coordinator Dean Kenes and youth worker Ewout Impe say. The circumstances are what they are, so creative thinking had to be done. “First and foremost a chapeau for our workgroup performances”, praises Ewout. “The operation has continued to run, even though no more parties were allowed to be organized. Performances as we used to organize them are also not possible. Fortunately, there is now the collaboration with CC Guldenberg in which we furnish the Porseleinhallen as a large living room. Borrowing from the Thrift Shop. we create carpets, seats, coffee tables and lamps and so we create forty cozy corners in the Porseleinhallen. Good for just as many bubbles. “The programming of the Guldenberg cultural center also came to a standstill, they too were looking for solutions in which the Porseleinhallen popped up as an alternative to their own hall . “In the Porcelain Halls you can simply separate the visitors further from each other. Our interests are the same here,” says Dean Kenes. “The collaboration under the name Living 2020 was a logical consequence. Immediately also a nod to LIVE2020, the action that offers support for anyone who has to make a living from live music. So the first and last weekend of October we transform the Porseleinhallen into a large, cozy The CC provides black screens and lighting, we provide the cozy furnishings and the bar before and after the concert. “Also in the weekend of 23, 24 and 25 October, ‘de Porsies’ will be transformed into a living room. It is not yet known which artists the youth club will welcome on stage. “Their agenda is often still quite empty,” says Dean. “They are also satisfied that organizers are looking for alternatives.” And so the Porseleinhallen will become a concert hall for a month, maybe this will provide ideas for the future when we no longer worry about a meter and a half. On Friday 2 October the Bony King of Nowhere will perform, on Sunday it will be Meskerem’s turn Titmouse. Tickets cost 10 euros and can be purchased through CC Guldenberg’s webshop. Anyone younger than 26 years old pays 8 euros. Raymond van het Groenewoud will arrive on Saturday 3 October, tickets cost 24 euros.
