Population urged by The Board to donate blood during Holy Week

The spokesman for the Board and Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Fernández Carriedo, today appealed to the population to come to donate blood this Holy Week, especially for groups ‘A+’, ‘A-‘, ‘0+ ‘ and ‘0-‘ that he pointed out are those with the greatest shortage in the reserves managed by the Hemotherapy and Hemodonation Center of Castilla y León, located in Valladolid.

In the subsequent appearance before the Governing Council, Fernández Carriedo took the opportunity to make “public service information” in order to alleviate the “shortage” of blood and its derivatives in the Community’s reserves.

This fact, he explained, occurs because a greater number of people are away from their homes and also because the demand grows as displacements increase.

For this reason, Fernández Carriedo addressed society on behalf of the Board so that they come to donate blood these days, especially in the groups that have lower reserves, as they do on the dates prior to the rest of the holiday periods.
