Suddenly there was Clubhouse out of nowhere. The app allows you to start audio chats and follow conversations from other users. Until now, the app is only for iOS users, but an Android app is now also in the works.

‘Clubhouse is working on Android app’
Paul Davidson, co-founder of Clubhouse, says in an interview with Bill Gates that the development of the Android app is in full swing. The new audio-focused social network is fast becoming the next hype in social media land. The app is also gaining popularity in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, Android users cannot participate in this craze just yet.
Clubhouse already confirmed in January that the company is working on an Android application. This promise is also confirmed by the platform’s Android app developers. However, it was still unclear how urgent the development of an Android app is. Paul Davidson has now commented on this: “Development is top priority.”
It is not yet known when Clubhouse for Android will be available. Most likely, the company will launch a number of beta versions before the social network officially appears in the Play Store.
Wat is Clubhouse?
Clubhouse is therefore a new social platform in which audio is central. You cannot turn on your camera; only access to your microphone is required. According to a market research by Sensor Tower the app has now been installed 14,000 times in the Netherlands, worldwide this counter stands at 4.1 million.
That number will probably only increase in the near future, especially now that Elon Musk has arrived in the app. His arrival immediately resulted in an increase in popularity.
It is striking that you need an invitation to participate in Clubhouse. The social network is therefore only available to people with a ‘Clubhouse Invite’. You can only get such an invitation from someone who is already using the app.
