After having done the controversy with his shock video on the New Year, Gims is determined to make things clear on several subjects. During this interview, the rapper also decides to put an end to another rumor that has stuck with him for years. A rumor that Gims would be polygamous. Indeed, the rapper has had to face these accusations for years. Some even argue that his wife would know and accept the situation.
“I got married only once”
The 35-year-old singer had never wanted “dwell on the rumor“. “This is totally false (…) I live with Demdem and the children. I got married only once. I never said it publicly” ensures Gims. For him, rumors exist when you become known. So he goes with it and knows that they are inseparable from the life of an artist “I find that unfair. But it’s part of the road to success, strewn with pitfalls“.
Met in the early 2000s, Gims and Demdem married in 2005 and gave birth to 4 children. Very modest and wanting to preserve their privacy, the couple has always remained very evasive on the subject. In December 2020, his wife confided in the names chosen for one of their 4 children. “I have a little Aïsha. I really chose it out of love for the mother of believers, by dint of reading stories about her. Aisha Lalla Parcke! ” she said.
Helping children: a vocation for Gims
Very dedicated to the cause of children, Gims has always helped in various humanitarian projects. In 2015, he launched his own association “Earth water“. A humanitarian project that has aims to facilitate access to drinking water for the population. The funds raised will be used in particular to build wells in Africa. More recently in November 2021, the singer collected 1,500,000 euros for Unicef France during the evening “United as ever“. A sumptuous event, for which all the costs were borne by the artist, namely the dinner, the organization and the entertainment.
