Rid of the pollution that usually surrounds it, the Hi¬ma¬laya reveals itself to the inhabitants of the surroundings. A breathtaking view that they hadn’t had the opportunity to admire in decades.
The world has been idling since the coronavirus took its first victims. With millions of people confined and economic and industrial activities drastically reduced, the impact of man on his environment has never been more convincing.
Indeed, confinement has many impacts on the nature that surrounds us. One of its most dramatic effects has recently been seen in India. In the north of the country, the inhabitants now have an incredible view on the roof of the world…
The Himalayas visible 200 km away
Thanks to the drop in air pollution, the summit of the Himalayas is now visible 200 km around. What has not happened in decades, residents say.
“I have never seen Dhauladar from the roof of my house in Jalandhar,” said Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian cricketer, on Twitter. “I never imagined it was possible. This is a clear message about the impact that the pollution we cause has on our mother Earth. “
