The federal and state governments have far-reaching easing in the Corona crisis hit – and thus in parts of society, politics and also triggered scientific incomprehension. Various countries announced specific dates for the opening of restaurants or hotels after it was agreed at the conference that a gradual opening of the gastronomy should be decided – against the background of the respective infection and country-specific peculiarities.
The basis should be the common hygiene and distance concepts of the conferences of ministers.

Yes, because personal contacts are particularly problematic
The longest debate last Wednesday in the Chancellery was the question of how far personal contact restrictions can be relaxed. Angela Merkel, in particular, would have liked to allow even less personal contact. In fact, the scientists also say that the greatest risk of infection does not lie in the supermarket or in the church. There you can minimize the risk of infection.
The biggest danger for new corona infections are – unfortunately – personal contacts and large crowds. The more people get together, the higher the risk of infection. Tracing infections is also becoming more difficult. In addition, if you have been infected and previously met people from four households (as is possible in Saxony-Anhalt), five households will then have to be quarantined.
From this point of view, loosening of personal contacts is particularly problematic. That is why the two-household rule and visits to nursing homes are a compromise. He calculates that – statistically speaking – there will be more infections again.
However, infection chains remain traceable as long as the total number of cases is low. But as soon as the numbers rise again, all compromises are invalid. A lockdown in different regions must be avoided.

No, politics is making a big mistake
The professionals play soccer, the shops sell clothes and the restaurants serve guests. We have all of this back, although not in the conventional form. But what good is it if we can’t enjoy it with friends? The order of loosening is wrong. Because the contact restrictions remain for the most part and thus lead everything else to absurdity.
Or how does politics want to explain to us that a duel in football is possible, but a walk in the fresh air with four friends from different households is not?
The population is getting tired of the Corona measures. A survey by the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment shows that acceptance at the end of April decreased compared to the previous month. The easing is correct. Also that the economy is considered. It is wrong, however, that these measures stand before the basic need of people for socializing.
If the federal and state governments do not loosen these restrictions in good time, those responsible risk that people meet in secret. This would also invalidate the argument of fear of a second wave of infection. Even more: The tracing of the infection routes would become more difficult again due to the stealth.
