The advisor on vaccines and immunization of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), Carlos Castillo, explained the process of the clinical trials that will be carried out in our country to test the efficacy of the vaccine candidate from the Sinopharm laboratory of China against the new coronavirus (COVID -19).
In dialogue with TV Peru, the specialist explained that after the 6,000 participants are chosen, the potential vaccine will be administered to the volunteers in mid-September. He specified that the participants will have an insurance policy as a preventive measure against any type of event.
“When these protocols are presented, they will be accompanied by an insurance policy. A study would not be approved if it does not come with a health care insurance policy for people who can present a type of event. They will receive medical care covered by that insurance policy you buy Sinopharm”He declared.
On the other hand, Carlos Castillo said that the participants will be monitored every day for a period of one year to avoid any type of adverse reaction in the body.

The specialist said that in the next few days the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) and the Universidad Cayetano Heredia will set up a platform to select the 6 thousand participants to carry out this clinical trial.
