The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police confiscated a number of items of evidence when arresting Ustaz Farid Okbah, Ahmad Zain An Najah, and Anung Al Hamat at their respective residences in Bekasi, West Java. The evidence in question includes documents confirming the involvement of the three in the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) group and the Baitul Maal Abdurrahman Bin Auf Zakat Charity Institution (LAZ BM ABA).
“It has been conveyed that the existing evidence, in conducting the investigation where the evidence includes statements from several suspects, in which the 28 suspects in the BAP point to the three suspects,” said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan in a statement. press conference at his office, South Jakarta, Friday (11/19/2021). Ramadhan revealed, Densus 88 only confiscated documents from Farid Okbah and friends. The document contains the roles of the three suspects.
“In yesterday’s release, there were documents. Including those documents, the contents showed the roles of the three suspects,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ramadhan said the documents seized by the Densus were sufficient to show Farid Okbah’s involvement in the alleged terrorism case. However, Ramadhan could not reveal the contents of the document.
“This means that the documents owned or confiscated by the Densus can already show the role of the involvement of the three suspects. Of course we cannot open it here because it is part of the Densus investigation and investigation,” added Ramadhan.
Previously, the Police revealed, Ustaz Farid Okbah, Ahmad Zain An Najah, and Anung Al Hamat, who was arrested by Densus 88 Anti-terror, are suspected of being involved in financing the terrorist group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI). All three face up to 15 years in prison.
