On Sunday evening two vehicles collided with each other at an intersection in Appenzell. Four people were injured in the accident and had to be taken to the hospital by various ambulances.

Appenzell AI, August 9th, 2020: On Sunday evening, a woman drove on Enggenhüttenstrasse in Appenzell AI from Scheidweg in the direction of the crossroads, where she turned left in the direction of Enggenhütten AI. At the same time, a 66-year-old driver was driving from Enggenhütten and wanted to continue straight ahead on the main road in the direction of Mettlenkreisel, which resulted in a violent frontal collision between the vehicles. The 57-year-old driver involved drove him to the local hospital.  Due to the boy's injuries, he was flown to the St. Gallen Children's Hospital with Rega.
