Police Raiding Kampung Ambon, West Jakarta, 45 People Arrested, Weapons and Alcohol Sealed

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The police are raiding Kampung Ambon which is located in the Permata Complex, Kedaung Kali Angke, West Jakarta, on Saturday (8/5/2021).

West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ady Wibowo said the raid was carried out by joint personnel from Polda Metro Jaya and West Jakarta Police.

There are at least 555 joint personnel deployed in the joint operation to raid the drug village.

“Where the elements involved in the Directorate of Narcotics from Brimob from Sabhara and Satnarkoba of the West Jakarta Police are conducting a joint operation at the Kampung Ambon location,” said Ady in a statement received on Saturday.

Ady explained that at least 45 people were arrested during the raids in Ambon Village.

As for the evidence confiscated in the form of sharp weapons, homemade weapons, five live bullets, drone, liquor, air rifles, and weighing equipment.

“We also secured marijuana and shabu that we managed to secure,” said Ady.

Ady asserted that there was no resistance by the perpetrators.

Members also dismantle the semi-permanent house that has been used as a place for drug abuse so far.

“There is no resistance, we secure it well, there was one (who fought) just not too much,” said Ady.

The perpetrators who were arrested have been taken to the West Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters for further investigation.
