He is still in the observation phase. Julien Daubigny, the new head of the Departmental Security of Calvados, has moved into his office at the Hôtel de police de Caen (Calvados) November 2, 2020. “For now, I have mostly met the institutions and our partners, but I intend to quickly put both feet and both hands in the judicial process,” says the father of two children.
Coordinate investigations
Immerse yourself in the heart of the investigative profession, which this native of Le Havre had somewhat overlooked during his previous assignments. After graduating from the Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or (Rhône) National Police School in 2017, he joined the police stations in Val-de-Reuil and then Rouen, before taking over from Jean-Pierre Besson, retired, as boss of the police officers of Calvados.
Deputy to the Departmental Director of Public Security, Olivier Le Gouestre, Julien Daubigny will be in charge of investigations, at the head of the 80 investigators from the various SD brigades (attacks on people, property, economic and financial, technical and scientific, narcotics …):
“My mission is to coordinate judicial investigations by looking, for example, at how a group of investigators can be assigned to a case in another district of the department (Lisieux, Dives-sur-Mer, Deauville and Honfleur)”.
A special look at drug trafficking
In this way, the new boss intends to “save time for investigators so that they can devote themselves to investigations”. With a particular focus on attacks on people and drug trafficking. This pure Normand, who studied law between Le Havre, Rouen and Caen, details:
“When you dismantle a network, fewer points of sale, stairwells are released. It is also ensuring the safety of everyday life ”.
