THIS is the shocking moment a cop shoots a fugitive down in a chase after the suspect opens fire and attempts to steal his motorcycle.

Dramatic footage shows Fremont cop Brian Burch driving along the side of the road in an attempt to dodge bullets fired by the suspect.

Police wanted to question attempted homicide suspect Joshua James Gloria, 34, about an armed robbery in San Francisco.

In the video, Burch can be seen shooting five times from 30 yards before the suspect collapsed to the ground.

Gloria died at the scene before 2:50 p.m. on March 24.

The clip begins with Constable Burch, who was on traffic duty, riding his motorcycle through the Ardenwood neighborhood of Fremont towards Gloria’s vehicle, after hearing he had activated a license plate camera in The area.

According to a police press release, the SUV was stolen and used in an armed robbery in San Francisco.

Burch followed the car into a mall parking lot and asked it to pull over in front of a Ross store.

But the suspect can be seen taking off instead, with Burch chasing him.

He is following him on State Route 84 when suddenly Gloria stops and starts shooting,

“Oh shit – gunshots! Burch yells and rolls quickly to the ground.

He then manages to get back on his feet and begins to shoot Gloria who was trying to steal the officer’s motorcycle.

After five shots, Gloria collapses to the ground.

He died at the scene.

The San Jose Police Department had issued an arrest warrant for Gloria in connection with an attempted murder case at an illegal gambling hall.

An investigation into the shooting by the California Highway Patrol and the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office is ongoing.
