Police: No Statement Ahok Forgiving Defamers of His Good Name Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Head of Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Kombes Pol Yusri Yunus said, the legal process of EJ (47) and KS (67), two perpetrators defamation against the President Commissioner of PT Pertamina Basuki Tjahja Purnama alias Ahok, keep it running.

This was done as long as Ahok did not retract the defamation report that had befallen him.

“I submit, until now there has not been statement the reporter either through his lawyer that there is a statement that the reporter forgives the person concerned or revokes the report, no. The process is still ongoing, “Yusri told reporters at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Thursday (6/8/2020).

To date, EJ and KS have been identified as suspects in allegations of defamation committed through social media Instagram with the account names @ ito.kurnia and @ an7a_S679.

Yusri explained, both are suspected of Article 27 paragraph (3) Jo Article 45 on the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2016 on ITE.

However, Yusri said, in article 27 it is very light and cannot be detained.

“So detention is not carried out but the case is still ongoing. What we are wearing to the person concerned is obliged to report every week,” he said.

According to Yusri, currently investigators have also prepared case files to keep the case going to court.

“Now our development completes the case files that we have immediately sent to the prosecutor,” he concluded.

Previously, Ahok reported a case of defamation of dialectics on social media networks.

He reported the case through his attorney, Ahmad Ramzy to the Jakarta Police with the number LP / 2885 / V / YAN 25/2020 / SPKT PMJ on May 17, 2020 then.

Ramzy explained that the reported case was more an insult experienced by Ahok and his family.

The insult took the form of writing and drawing sent by the perpetrators via Ahok’s official Instagram some time ago.

However, Ramzy himself could not explain what the insult was received by Ahok.
