MIDDELBURG – The police are urgently looking for two girls of about 12 or 13 years old who may have more information about the stabbing that killed Tim van der Steen. The duo is probably the first to see Tim lying down after the stabbing incident.

The police have meanwhile spoken to the man who called the emergency services after he found the teenager near the Meanderflat in Middelburg. Just before that, two girls asked for help. This was when he cycled over De Overloper, near Vromoldsland.

The police have not yet spoken to the girls. Both had brown hair. One girl was slightly taller than the other.

What exactly happened is still unclear. It is established that Tim was stabbed in several places with a sharp object and was left bleeding profusely. On Sunday another silent march was held for the boy, about 400 people attended.
