Police investigate threat against JK Rowling after tweet about Rushdie | Book & Culture

Scottish police are investigating an online threat to Harry Potterauthor JK Rowling. She was threatened after a tweet about the attack on fellow writer Salman Rushdie.-

Rowling tweeted that she was sick of the attack on Rushdie. After that, the writer received a threat, of which she then shared a screenshot. “Don’t worry, you’re next,” the message reads.

The author of the Harry Potterseries has previously received many negative reactions and, in their own words, also threats after statements that critics consider transphobic.

Rushdie was stabbed Friday during a lecture in New York state. A spokesperson for the author said on Saturday that he is approachable again. Rushdie, 75, is still in hospital and may lose an eye.
