JAKARTA, KOMPAS TV – Former head of the TNI’s Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais), Soleman Ponto, said the attack by suspected terrorists targeting the National Police Headquarters was the responsibility of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT).
He did not agree that the attack was said to have been conceded by intelligence. According to him, acts of terror that took place at the National Police Headquarters were not the responsibility of intelligence.
“If we talk about terrorists, combating terrorists, countering terrorists, the only agency that is most responsible is the BNPT,” Ponto said as quoted by Kompas.com on Sunday (4/4/2021).
“And this agency was formed to combat terrorists, so if there are terrorists who are still roaming around, just ask him.”
Because of that, he said, it would not be right for the attack on the Police Headquarters to be questioned by the Intelligence.
This is because, he said, currently there is a BNPT that is responsible for tackling terrorism. If it is not the BNPT, then the breach can become the responsibility of Intelligence.
