Police find large amount of crystal meth in raids

In an investigation into the trade and production of synthetic drugs, police have raided business premises across the country in recent days. According to the police, thousands of kilos and liters of chemicals were found, as well as a large amount of drugs. No one has been arrested yet.

The East Brabant police found a vehicle that may have been used to transport drugs. That led to a business building in Kerkdriel in Gelderland. A raid was made there on Tuesday evening.

The building contained chemicals for the production of synthetic drugs and a large amount of methamphetamine (‘crystal meth’) with a street value of several million euros. The drugs have been destroyed.

Limburg, Groenekan, Almere

The investigation in Kerkdriel brought the police to a shed in Holtum in Limburg, where a raid was also carried out that same evening. There the police found a fully equipped drug lab, a large quantity of chemicals and drugs. The laboratory was not in operation.

Agents also raided a garage in Groenekan, Utrecht. There were jerry cans with thousands of liters of chemicals and, among other things, a large cooking kettle used in the production of drugs.

According to the police, the chemicals at the various locations came from a business building in Almere. There, investigators found about eight liters of methamphetamine oil and a large cooking kettle, as well as thousands of kilos and liters of raw materials for drugs.

Mayor Weerwind of Almere has decided to close the building for six months due to violations of the Opium Act.
