The police do not control the certificates themselves from passers-by, but can check whether a person is violating self-isolation.
Police on the street do not check the originality of COVID certificates. This was stated by the head of the National Police Igor Klimenko on Tuesday, November 9.
“Together with local authorities, sanitary doctors, we control the observance of self-isolation by our citizens. we carry out no checks of COVID certificates on the street, I want to say this officially, “Klimenko said.
He added that the legal position of the National Police regarding fake certificates is that persons who ordered a COVID certificate, but did not use it, should not be prosecuted. The same persons who produced or used it are liable under the law.
“If in the near future there are changes in legislation, including criminal legislation, the police will respond appropriately to this,” Klimenko explained.
Klimenko assured that the investigative measures make it possible to quickly and deeply study the origin of such a certificate.
“We have to establish who issued it, whose seal it is and how original it is. – Ed.) within the framework of the investigation, we establish, “- said the head of the National Police.
