The speeder exceeded the speed limit of 100 km/h by 88 km/h near Weiterstadt. Police caught him by accident.

Weiterstadt – On Saturday afternoon (February 4th), the police officers were out and about in plain clothes. They were on the lookout for traffic offenses on the A5 near Weiterstadt in the district Darmstadt-The castle. But they definitely didn’t expect this offense: Suddenly a car sped past them at 188 km/h. Actually only 100 km/h are allowed. The man was caught thanks to measurements by civil investigators when exceeding the speed limit, according to the police headquarters in southern Hesse.

The driver now faces a high fine: the 47-year-old man has to pay 700 euros, according to the Darmstadt police. In addition, he gets two points in Flensburg. The man also had to give up his driver’s license. Then it’s over with the lawn for a whole three months. It is not known where the 47-year-old wanted to go so quickly and why he was in such a hurry. Now the police are checking more often again. From February 6th to 12th will be again reinforced mobile speed cameras set up. (mm)
