Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Central Jakarta Metro Abang Police Station investigates the location of Starbucks employee actions suspected of peeking at customer employees through the monitoring of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).

Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief AKBP M Jauhari said from the search results it was known that the incident occurred at a Starbucks outlet in Sunter Mall, North Jakarta (North Jakarta).

The information, said Jauhari, was obtained from Starbucks information that was met by the police at the Starbucks office in the Sahid Building, Sudirman, Central Jakarta.

“Starbucks explained the incident, the crime scene at Sunter Mall, North Jakarta,” Jauhari said in his statement on Thursday (2/7).

Jauhari said, from the information obtained, the incident occurred on Wednesday (1/7).

Jauhari also revealed that his party already knew information about the suspect’s alleged identity.

“The viral beginning of the video was passed by an employee named D to his friend,” Jauhari said.

Head of Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Commissioner Yusri Yunus previously said that so far the police had not received any reports related to the incident.

Yusri said, the perpetrators who recorded and distributed the video would be charged with the Information and Electronic Transaction Law.

“For those who record and disseminate, of course this has violated, we will also use the ITE Law article,” Yusri said, Thursday (2/7).

On the other hand, PT Sari Coffee Indonesia stated that such behavior cannot be tolerated.

PT Sari Coffee Indonesia’s GM PR & Communications, Andrea Siahaan, said that the company had ensured that the employee no longer worked at Starbucks.

“We ensure that the individual concerned is no longer working with PT Sari Coffee Indonesia,” he said.
