Police are investigating suspicious packages in Utrecht and The Hague

Another suspicious package was found in Utrecht at a company on the Eendrachtlaan. The area has been closed off and the police have called on the Explosives Clearance Service Defense for investigation.

Only the space where the package was found has been cleared. All other employees may stay in the building. As an precaution, an ambulance and the fire brigade are present.

In The Hague, too, the police are investigating a suspicious package on Plein 1813. According to a spokesperson, the package is “somewhere on the square”. The police called in an expert and partly closed off the square for all traffic during the investigation.

In recent months bomb letters have been delivered to various companies in the Netherlands and two bomb letters exploded two weeks ago in Amsterdam and Kerkrade. Many companies are therefore extra alert. According to the police, the letters are sent by a blackmailer, which demands an amount in bitcoins.
