During the Saturday meeting in Grodno, President Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about the movements of NATO troops in Poland and Lithuania, near the border with Belarus. Lukashenko stated, inter alia, that “there are those who want to cut off a piece of this land (Belarus – ed.), Especially in the west”.
In response to the words of the Belarusian president, the head of the cabinet of the President of the Republic of Poland, Krzysztof Szczerski, issued a statement in which he denies that Poland intends to violate the territorial integrity of that state
“Poland is a state that consistently advocates the primacy of international law in relations between states in the international arena. We believe that observance of international law is the basis of world peace. The foundation of this right is the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, ”reads the release.
“Poland defends this principle at the UN forum and implements it in its foreign policy, defending the countries of our region against imperialism and aggression that violate these principles. Therefore, it is saddening and surprising to us that there are suggestions in the propaganda of the Belarusian authorities that Poland intends to violate the territorial integrity of this state. Poland did not and does not have such intentions, ”Szczerski continues.
“On the contrary, as it was announced in the position of the Presidents of the Visegrad Group, we call on all states not to violate the sovereignty of Belarus in any form,” adds the head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Poland.
