A new scenario of a migration crisis is possible on the border between Poland and Belarus – migrants from Afghanistan can be attracted to Belarus. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in Vilnius, informs Ukrinform on Sunday, November 21.
“We are threatened by a more complex scenario. We know about diplomatic and official contacts of Belarusians and Russians with Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. And, probably, there will be an attempt to use the crisis in Afghanistan as another scenario of a migration crisis,” Moravetsky said.
The Polish prime minister recalled that the first flights took place, which migrants returned from Belarus to Iraq, but now they have been stopped.
Moravetski stressed that Alexander Lukashenko is leading the migration crisis in an attempt to violate the eastern borders of NATO and the European Union.
Note that Moravetsky went on a tour of Europe to discuss the situation with migrants with the leaders of the countries of the region. Besides Estonia and Lithuania, he will visit Latvia on Sunday.
We will remind, Poland accused Belarusian services in helping migrants during the assault borders. Employees of the Belarusian services choose places suitable for the assault and equip people with items necessary for crossing the border, said Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak.
In turn, Poland has so far made a decision on the closure of only one border checkpoint in the Smithy, however threatens to completely close the border with Belarus – everything will now depend on the actions of the Belarusian authorities, the Polish government said.
