Strangers stole around six tons of copper scrap from a warehouse during a raid on the premises of a company north of Kassel on Friday night. The value of the stolen goods amounts to about 60,000 euros according to the current valuation of the robbed disposal company. Investigators from the Kassel Kripo Kommissariat 21/22 dealing with the case are now looking for witnesses. In particular, road users on the B 7 could have noticed the removal of the loot, probably with a truck.
According to the current state of the investigation, the raid on the company’s premises in Holländische Straße, just on the outskirts of Vellmar, took place between 6:30 pm last night and 1:45 am that night. The authors had opened a control box at the entrance to the recycling center and opened the roller shutter. They then drove their vehicle to the site and violently opened two warehouse gates. They used the disposal company’s forklift to load several containers of copper scrap onto their vehicle. It is not yet known in which direction the thieves fled.
Investigators from K 21/22 ask witnesses who made suspicious observations in the crime scene area during the crime period to contact the Kassel police on Tel. 0561-9100.
