The police learned of the following facts on the evening of today, Saturday 15 October 2022:
Strangers deliberately tried to set fire to various places in the parish church “Maria Himmelfahrt” in Wolfenweiler, including in the pew area, at the confessional and at the altar.
While the damage to the property appears manageable, it may have been just a coincidence that no serious accident has occurred. The police are now investigating this fact and have therefore started the investigation.
Anyone who has made such observations in the church area on Saturday 15 October 2022, between 11 am and 6 pm, is requested to contact the Breisach Police Station 24 hours a day, Tel. 07667 91170.
