Pokémon GO, Heatran Shiny: How to defeat and capture it in raids? Our guide – News

A powerful Legendary Pokémon from 4th generation makes a comeback in the raids of Pokémon GO ! From August 21 to September 10, you have the chance to face and capture the dreaded Heatran. Is he powerful? What are his best cons? You will know everything with this complete capture guide!

Information about Heatran

  • Heatran is only available in Level 5 raids. Try to capture it with the weather condition Sunny : it will be harder to beat but stronger once you get it (it is also boosted by snow, but it could be complicated in the middle of August). Note that the sun is also very useful for boosting your Ground-type abilities, which are the best counters against Heatran.
  • Heatran can go up to 2145 PC at level 20 and 2681 CP with the weather boost (level 25 therefore). The more PCs there are, the better IVs you will get!

Only the eyes change between the Shiny version and the Classic version!

  • In terms of statistics, remember that Heatran is a overpowered monster both defensively and offensively. So why is it only rarely present in PVP as in raids? It’s very simple, Heatran just doesn’t have access to good enough attacks, which are just as important as stats in Pokémon GO. For PVP, Heatran is viable in the Master League. For raids, there remains a very strong Fire type attacker.

List of the best counters in Heatran

Heatran is a Fire and Steel-type Pokémon, which makes it doubly weak compared to the Sol type. All his best counters are of this type, insist on it. There is also a Water weakness and a Combat weakness, but, you’ll see, we’ll hardly be playing on it. Note that the list below was compiled using fairly complex combat simulators, so it is very reliable.

Tips for catching

About the Heatran attacks

Heatran has access to two quick attacks : Dance Flames (Fire type) and Sting (Insect type). And three charged attacks : Blast (Fire type), Rock Blade (Rock type) and Iron Head (Steel type).

There is nothing you particularly need to worry about here. Whatever happens, the best blocks are still the best blocks. The easiest Heatran to beat has Sting (which doesn’t hurt much) and Rockblade (which is resisted by the Ground-type), but it’s also the worst. The one with a combo of two Fire attacks (Flame and Blast Dance) is a tougher one, especially in the sun, but mostly the best to have on your team.

Recommended number of players according to your level of trainer

If you have his best counters, Heatran can be run over by two level 40 players. He may have monstrous statistics, but a double weakness never forgives. If in doubt, come all the same to three. If you don’t have access to formidable counters but you are still of a good level, come instead to 4 or 5. Above, you must at least come to 8 to have a chance to knock this Pokémon down. Legendary.
