Pokémon GO events in Italy, Japan and South Korea canceled NOW

Game developer Niantic has it Pokémon GOevent Nidorino and Gengar Raid Day canceled in Japan, South Korea and Italy. Join the event Pokémon GOplayers take to the streets to catch special Pokémons.

Pokémon GO is a smartphone game where players actually have to go outside to catch and collect different Pokémons on location.

Nidorino and Gengar Raid Day was scheduled for March 1 as part of Pokémon Day, the celebration of the 24th anniversary of Pokémon, which took place on Friday. During the event, players get the chance to catch two special versions of the Pokémons Nidorino and Gengar. These Pokémons wear a party hat during the event.

Niantic does not specifically mention the corona virus as the cause of the cancellation, but Italy, Japan and South Korea are all struggling with the COVID-19 virus.

It is unclear whether Niantic plans to move the events in those regions to a later date. The event will continue in the Netherlands for the time being.
