DualShock 5:
The DualShock 5 controller does not experience many innovations. In addition to a USB Type-C connection for charging and connecting a USB Type-C headset, you can look forward to haptic feedback. The touchpad also acts as a fingerprint sensor to unlock its profile.
Playstation 5:
The new Playstation 5 has 1x USB Type-C, 2x USB 3.2, 1x USB 2 and a USB 2 connection with power supply on the front. The AUX connection, which enables a direct connection of audio sources to the Playstation 5, is surprising. The cooling openings on the front and rear ensure perfect circulation of the hot air inside the console. In the course of the presentation, a Crystal White Edition was announced with the first picture of the Playstation 5. The shape of the console is very reminiscent of a mini PC.
Graphic Expanding Technology (G.E.T.):
Thanks to the patented Graphic Expanding Technology, G.E.T. for short, games of the older generations can be played with a graphic boost. Sony has taken the 1997 original from Final Fantasy VII as an example and shows the serious effects of G.E.T.
Graphic Reduction Technology (G.R.T.):
In addition to G.E.T. the GPU will also be able to make modern games a little more performance-friendly and, with the graphic reduction technology, allows an enormous downgrade of all resource guzzlers. Here, too, Sony presented an example using Horizon Zero Dawn:
Backward compatibility 2.0:
Compared to the latest information on backward compatibility for Playstation 4 games, Sony has now announced that not only all games of the Playstation generation (including Playstation Vita, Playstation Portable), but also in cooperation with Nintendo and Microsoft, also all Nintendo GameBoy and Original Xbox Games can be played with it. Thanks to the modified GPU and the graphic expanding technology, even titles like Tetris are visually upgraded a bit. The games of other consoles (including Vita and PSP) will only be available in the digital store. The cost per game is between $ 5 and $ 15, according to Sony.
Even more power with additional components:
Although the Playstation 5 is already a real powerhouse, Sony has prepared for the future and allows with that Serial Playstation Expander and Computer Interface Adapter Link (S.P.E.C.I.A.L.) additional performance. There you can either connect your Playstation 4 PRO or a PC and benefit from even more power. The connection is made through the rear Playstation-4 camera connection. If you want to connect your PC, you have to use a separately available PS-Link PCIe card.
