Chicago White Sox - Player growth Affiliate Internship
Do you want to launch your career in professional baseball? The Chicago White Sox are seeking motivated individuals for seasonal Player Development Affiliate Internships!
This entry-level possibility offers a complete experience within our organization, supporting Minor League coaching staffs at one of our five affiliate locations: Charlotte (AAA), Birmingham (AA), Winston-Salem (A+), Kannapolis (A), or Glendale (RK). Interns will also contribute to various baseball operations projects based on their skills.
Key Details:
* Duration: February 10th – September 30th (wiht potential extension into Instructional league). Full availability is required.
* Location: Charlotte, Birmingham, Winston-Salem, Kannapolis, or Glendale.
* Compensation: Hourly, non-exempt position with furnished housing or a housing stipend provided.
* Hours: Irregular, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
* Provide direct video and details support to players and coaches.
* Film and chart games and early work sessions.
* Create advanced scouting reports for upcoming series.
* Manage and maintain baseball technology (Hawkeye, Motion Capture, TrackMan, Edgertronic Cameras, Blast Motion, etc.).
* Travel with the team for all road games.
* Assist in implementing player development plans.
* Complete autonomous projects assigned by various departments (Scouting, Analytics, Player Development, Front Office).
Qualifications:
* Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive learning attitude.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Highly desirable: Knowledge of baseball technologies (Hawkeye, Motion Capture, TrackMan, Edgertronic Cameras, Blast Motion, etc.).
* Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Bonus Points:
* Prior coaching or playing experience.
* Advanced understanding of hitting/pitching biomechanics.
* Conversational Spanish proficiency.
* Video editing skills.
* Experience with baseball/performance research and data analysis using SQL, R, or Python.
