The Tyrolean Sandro Platzgummer is in the training squad of the New York Giants for the coming season. The 23-year-old Tyrolean has a special status as part of the International Pathway Program of the National Football League (NFL) and may therefore not be included in the match squad in the 2020 season. The Giants announced on Sunday evening.
Running back Platzgummer, only the fourth Austrian in history to have an NFL contract, did not make it into the 53-man squad, as expected, on Saturday after his initial preparation in the USA, with which the Giants in the season that started on Thursday To attack. There are up to 16 players in the training squad who can be pulled up at any time. Platzgummer is 17th but an exception.
