Places to see Christmas lights in Dallas and Fort Worth

The end of the year is approaching and the celebrations, events and festive decorations are not far behind in North Texas. This year there are several places to visit and take photos in front of Christmas lights with your loved ones and friends.

We share a list of places where you can see Christmas lights in Dallas, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Addison and Allen.

Dallas Zoo Lights

The Dallas Zoo has a show of more than a million little lights on a one-mile route for a drive-thru experience. They light up large festive sculptures, life-size animal lanterns and more along the way.

This year also opens an immersive experience with video projections that transform the road and it ends with the lights of the Reliant Holiday Village.

Light the Night en Allen

The city of Allen is home to a Christmas tree with more than 145,000 lights timed to Christmas music. The tree is located in the Watters Creek shopping plaza and it is free to visit and take photos.

Where: Watters Creek, 970 Garden Park Dr., Allen. The mall is open from 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday, and from 12 to 6 pm on Sundays.

Prairie Lights en Grand Prairie

Prairie Lights holiday season is here at Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie. The exhibition features 4 million little lights arranged in new scenes, figures and arches over two miles.

This year the Holiday Village returns. The exhibition is to see by car, and halfway down you can get out of your vehicle to enjoy carnival games, stroll through an enchanted forest, buy food and even take a picture with Santa Claus. The tunnels of lights are up to date and promise to give you a show that you will never forget.

Vitruvian Lights en Addison

Vitruvian Lights is the largest free Christmas light display in North Texas. The season of lights begins this Friday, November 26, when Santa will make a visit to officially turn on the lights, accompanied by a performance by the Jordan Kahn Orchestra.

Reliant Lights Your Holidays

The annual Reliant Lights Your Holidays event returns to the AT&T Performing Arts Center for the ninth time. The event will be illuminated by more than hundreds of thousands of LED lights, and will feature a light show and video at the Wyly Theater.

There will be performances by Bidi Bidi Banda, Selena’s tribute group, and Vinyl Countdown: A Tribute to Arena Rock.

There will be a photo opportunity with Santa Claus. A free miniature golf at the Reliant Putting Green. There will also be a play area and crafts for children.

Holiday at the Arboretum

This year, the Arboretum will once again have its 25-foot tall Christmas tree. At night, the Arboretum becomes a landscape of more than a million lights. The Christmas Village will have a new musical Christmas tree with 42,000 little lights and Christmas songs. There will be Santa Claus tours, live entertainment, a market, cooking demonstrations, and drinks and food for sale.

A Christmas light show and a Christmas-themed carnival where attendees can ice skate, ride a Ferris wheel, play with snowballs and much more.
