PKO BP warns against false confirmations of the operation via e-mail

PKO BP warns against criminals pretending to be a bank. As indicated in the release, the scammers send fake confirmations of the operation via email.

“Confirmations are sent from fake e-mail addresses, which suggest that they come from the bank,” we read.

PKO BP representatives indicated that the false sender’s addresses may pretend to be, for example, the address [email protected]. “The title and content of the e-mail inform about the transaction on the account, and the attachment indicates the transaction confirmation” – added.

An example message from scammers was attached to the message. “Internal transfer to your account. Attached description” – we read in its content (original spelling).

Representatives of the largest bank in Poland ask you not to open such e-mails, attachments and forward them. “If we do not apply these rules and the attachment is opened, the criminals may install malware,” they added.

If the attachment is opened, PKO BP asks you to urgently contact the hotline.

Scams “on vacation voucher”

This is not the only warning against frauds that has appeared in recent days. The police emphasized that criminals use every opportunity to obtain money or personal data. This time it is related to the entry into force of the 500 plus tourist voucher.

“Currently, fraudsters target people who may be parents of minor children. The perpetrators call potential victims and claim to be, for example, employees of the Ministry of Development, encourage you to take advantage of the “special offer for a vacation voucher” “- we could read in the police announcement.
