PKB: Let the public decide on the culprit behind the U-20 World Cup’s cancellation.

Jakarta

PKB regretted FIFA’s final decision that canceled Indonesia from being the host U-20 World Cup. The efforts of Indonesian young football players to compete in the international arena have been closed.

“Save me, sorry! The rice has become mush. The hopes of seeing the young Indonesian football team appear on the world stage are starting to be buried. There is nothing to hope for but wisdom and lessons,” said PKB Deputy Chief Jazilul Fawaid to journalists, Thursday (30/3 /2023).

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and Bali Governor Wayan Koster refused the participation of the Israeli U-20 national team and refused to allow the Israeli national team to compete in their area, before FIFA’s decision. However, according to Jazilul, the final decision rests with FIFA which ultimately cancels Indonesia’s host status.

“Indeed, with various considerations, Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Koster can declare their refusal, even though the final decision rests with FIFA,” said Jazilul.

PKB did not want to name the party that made FIFA cancel Indonesia’s status as the host of the U-20 World Cup. According to him, people can judge for themselves.

“With a heavy heart we have to accept FIFA’s decision. However, who is the culprit of the cancellation from FIFA, let the public judge,” he said.

Jokowi Sad U-20 World Cup Canceled in RI

President Jokowi admitted that he was saddened by the cancellation of the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia. Jokowi asked all parties not to blame each other.

“But don’t waste energy blaming each other,” Jokowi said, Thursday (30/3).

Jokowi said the public must be able to move on with this decision. He also invited all parties to make this a lesson.

“And as a great nation we must look forward, not backward,” he said.

“Make this a valuable lesson for all of us, for Indonesian national football,” he added.
