CASTELFRANCO DI SOTTO (PISA) was stabbed to death on the banks of the Arno river in Castelfranco di Sotto, a municipality in the province of Pisa. Nothing was known about the victim until last night. He had no documents on him or even a mobile phone and not excluded he was the victim of a robbery that would have taken place on Sunday afternoon. The man was allegedly killed by someone who then managed to escape without being seen.

The area where the corpse was found peripheral but frequented, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, by people who love outdoor walks and trekking even if yesterday the bad weather had limited access to the area. The carabinieri therefore began to look for some witnesses but also to identify any traces of the killer on the soft ground due to the rain.

The corpse
The victim is apparently around 40 years old, white-skinned, and was dressed in sportswear, in tracksuit. The Public Prosecutor of Pisa has ordered an autopsy on the body of the unknown person which will be performed this morning at the Department of Forensic Medicine of the University of Pisa. The carabinieri continued their investigations until late at night using artificial lights to look for footprints of the murderer and the murder weapon, a knife with a long blade, which for now has not been found.
