Disney wants to launch a spin-off of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series with female power. Margot Robbie is said to play the main role.

Actress Margot Robbie (29, “Bombshell – The End of the Silence”) is said to play the lead role in a Disney release of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series, reports the American industry portal “The Hollywood Reporter”. The project is a film independent of the previous five parts with Johnny Depp (57) alias Jack Sparrow and is intended to function as an independent story. “Birds of Prey” author Christina Hodson is the script.
Twice new seaman’s yarn
The project is also independent of the already announced reboot of the popular pirate films, which the longtime author of the series Ted Elliott (58) is currently preparing together with Craig Mazin (49, “Chernobyl”). The long-time “Pirates of the Caribbean” producer Jerry Bruckheimer (76) will produce both films.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” series is one of the most commercially successful Hollywood productions of all time and has grossed over $ 4.5 billion in its five parts.
