Pinangki Attorney Allegedly Promised Greater Rewards Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.comAttorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari has been named a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the convicted case of transferring the collection rights or cessie Bank Bali, Djoko S Tjandra alias Joko S Tjandra.

In this case, Pinangki allegedly accepted a bribe of 500,000 US dollars or around Rp 7 billion to help Djoko Tjandra freed from the lawsuits that ensnared him.

As is known, Djoko Tjandra previously submitted a request for reconsideration (PK) to the South Jakarta District Court.

“What yesterday circulated in the media as well as the results of the inspection (Field) of Supervision, it was suspected that it was around US $ 500,000. If it was converted to about Rp. 7 billion, it was estimated that it was around US $ 500,000,” said Head of the Attorney General’s Office of Legal Information, Hari Setiyono, at the AGO Complex, South Jakarta, Wednesday (12/8/2020).

However, it is suspected that the money that Pinangki received was only a fraction of the much greater reward if Djoko Tjandra was successful in getting out of his case.

Reporting from Kompas.id, Pinangki allegedly promised a reward of 10 million US dollars or around Rp 145 billion by Djoko.

This reward was disguised as the purchase of a power plant asset belonging to one of the entrepreneurs that Pinangki offered to Joko.

Meanwhile, the US $ 500,000 that was alleged to have been handed over was previously used to carry out a number of plans that had been prepared.

Of that amount, 50,000 US dollars was allegedly handed over to Anita Kolopaking, lawyer Djoko Tjandra. Pinangki is also suspected of having played a role in introducing Djoko to Anita.

Pinangki and Anita are known to be college friends in 2009. Reporting from the LinkedIn page, Pinangki took his doctoral education at Padjajaran University between 2008-2011.

Meanwhile, launching the website of the Indonesian National Arbitration Board (BANI), Anita graduated from the Padjajaran University doctoral program in 2009.

Attorney Djoko Tjandra, Otto Hasibuan stated that his client never told him about the flow of funds to Pinangki or other parties.

“Tomorrow (today) I plan to meet him. Tomorrow I will try to ask,” said Otto as quoted from the press. Kompas.id.

Meanwhile, Anita’s attorney, Andi Putra Kusuma, also needed to confirm this information to Anita.

However, as far as he knows, there is only a work contract for Anita to take care of the reconsideration (PK) of Joko’s case. The proposed contract value is 200,000 US dollars.

However, he did not know whether the money had been disbursed or not.

Previously, the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) hoped that attorney General’s Office can develop the Pinangki case.

“In a process like this don’t just get hot at the beginning, then sluggish. And then it’s as if the people forget and the government doesn’t care anymore,” said MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman via a video statement received. Kompas.com, Wednesday (12/8/2020).

Boyamin hopes that Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin can investigate this case more deeply. So, it is known where the origin of the money flow that Pinangki received.

“Because it is impossible for the Prosecutor P to only accept without giving,” he said.

“And in cases of corruption, gratification, or bribery or acceptance of promises, it must be done by at least two people, two parties,” added Boyamin.

Investigation, he continued, needs to be carried out to determine the parties suspected of being involved as suspects.
