A traffic accident has occurred on the Riga-Liepāja highway (A9, 160 kilometers) at the turn to Ilmāja, the State Police reports.
The bypass of the accident is organized through Aizpute on the highways Aizpute-Kalvene (P115) and Kudīga-Aizpute-Līči (P112).

Eyeworks taken by eyewitnesses have also appeared on social networks, in which it can be seen that one car overturned on the roof and people are trapped in it.
It can also be seen that two more trucks were involved in the accident.
On the last day of last week, 21 people were injured in road traffic accidents in Latvia, including one pedestrian and two cyclists, the State Police reported.
A total of 57 road traffic accidents were registered in the country, ten of which were with victims. All three accidents involving vulnerable road users – pedestrians and cyclists – have occurred in the Riga region.
During the day, a total of 24 road traffic accidents were recorded in the Riga region, 14 in Kurzeme, 11 in Zemgale, six in Latgale, and two in Vidzeme.
