Igor is a real estate business manager and sports enthusiast. “I want to show others that I need to do, not sleep at home on the couch,” says Igor, calling membership in the Boxing Academy one of his most important sporting goals. Thanks to his purpose, Igors has also reached professional heights – for example, he has established a real estate agency from the very foundations, which is currently one of the leading in Latvia. Igor grew up in the countryside, where he learned work ethic and perseverance. According to Igor, the most important thing is to be honest with himself and follow the correct planning principles – in the intensive rhythm of work, he finds time for both family and self-growth and sports. Igor compares boxing training to going to church – he enjoys every minute spent in the gym.

Mairis from Tukums admits: “Boxing is my dream. I would like to have a lot of fights, as well as inspire people and train children and young people.” As a child, Mairis was often ridiculed, so he quickly learned to defend himself. Maira’s brother and father, seeing the potential in the young man, put him in the art of martial arts. It is with perseverance and diligence that Mairis has succeeded in becoming one of the strongest members of the Boxing Academy through training in the woods and in the cold cellar. Mairi is characterized not only by physical strength – despite the losses and emotional shocks, he is a sincere, open and helpful team player. Maira’s goal is to become a professional boxer and bring Latvia’s honor to the world. As Mairis says, “If you believe, anything is possible!”

Maris from Tukums is a 37-year-old owner of a catering company. Māris enjoys challenges, which is confirmed by his varied business experience, but in parallel with entrepreneurship, a stable role in Māris’ life has always been given to sports. Maris is a versatile athlete – he has trained in motocross, football, kickboxing and boxing since his early childhood. Māris once also took part in several fights, but due to a serious injury he had to leave professional sports. The unrealized dream and spite encouraged Māris to apply to the Boxing Academy and resume boxing. As Maris says: “I’m crazy – if I get caught up in something, I go all the way without releasing the gas!”

9. Ralph Khmelnytsky (25)

Ralph is a confident and purposeful real estate agent with many drastic changes in his biography. As a child, Ralph was ridiculed for his unmanly appearance because he did not eat quality food, so he was unsportsmanlike and round. Parents and teachers also did not believe in Ralph’s growth by giving Ralph harsh, ridiculous criticism and insults – this is what led the young man to start playing sports, which changed his whole life as a result. Ralph’s heart is a matter of Ralph’s self-education and meditation, so he devotes almost all of his time to physical activity. With the help of boxing, Ralph intends to become physically and emotionally invulnerable: “Boxing for me is a sport of streamlining fears, because it has to fight an opponent who wants to injure you. When we deal with our fears, we become invincible!”

10. Reinis Garkalns (31)

Reinis is one of the pioneers of crossfit and functional fintess in Latvia, as well as a winner of countless competitions. Rein’s daily routine is in training in and out of the gym, improving not only his own but also other people’s physical fitness: “My goal is to promote well-being in people and lead to a healthier lifestyle.” Rein is kind, communicative and friendly, so he does not consider the work of a coach to be a calling of life. Rhine is also an avid traveler, so he tries to combine sports with hobbies by setting up and running camps abroad. At the “Boxing Academy”, Reinis has applied to challenge himself and test his abilities in the boxing ring.
